Locomotive Information:

RS3 Units 4115, 4106, 4107, 4113, 4122, 4112, 4119, and 4128 were rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen into RS3m units numbered 501-508 respectively, between December of '75 and March of '76. Re-engined with the 2000hp 12 cylinder 251C engine, the long hood was raised six inches to accommodate the larger engine. The dynamic brake was also moved to a box behind the cab. This class also known by their M-K designation of TE56. 506 was delivered in Bi-centennial colors as 1976 but was later renumbered back to 506
