Trace the History through pictorial and written form, of the longest continually running transportation company in the United States.
From the opening of the D&H canal from Honesdale, PA to Kingston, NY in 1828, through the heyday of the company's
gravity railroad, the steam era, and the lead the D&H took in the development of roller bearing side-rods and high pressure water tube boilers,
the passenger 4-8-4 Northerns and freight 4-6-6-4 Challengers, the diesel era including the 4 ex Santa Fe PA's painted in the now famous D&H Blue &
Gray (silver in this case) with a yellow stripe, through ownership by Dereco (Norfolk & Western and others) to the upheaval of the Guilford takeover and
bankruptcy, operation by the NYS&W, and finally purchase
by CP Rail.
